“Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood.” -Fred Rogers

CURRICULUM

Our priority at Little Discoveries is providing a safe, clean and stimulating environment for your child. Our experience tells us that children learn best in a structured and predictable environment. We know there are many opportunities in your child's day that have the potential to be learning moments. We are excited about facilitating those moments through our daily activities and pre-school curriculum. To that end, the daily schedule consists of age-appropriate, timely movement through different experiences that include:

  • Learning Centers (ie. STEM, DRAMATIC PLAY, FINE MOTOR, MANIPULATIVES, MUSIC AND MOVEMENT)

  • Circle Time

  • Indoor and Outdoor Play

  • Art

  • Story Time

  • Meal and Snack Time

  • Rest Time

In addition, every child will be assessed every six months or as needed. Little Discoveries uses Brigance for early childhood assessments, which is a series of short questions covering developmental stages such as Communication, Gross Motor, Fine Motor, and Problem Solving. Our curriculum is developed to meet your child's social, cognitive, language, emotional and physical needs. We look forward to serving you and your family!
